The Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is an Orthodox church that is part of the Voronezh and Liski diocese. It is located in the village of Otradnoye in the Novousmansky district of the Voronezh region and is recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage at the regional level.
Construction of the church began in 1893 and was completed in 1901. The church was built in the Neo-Russian style and consecrated in honor of the Orthodox holiday of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1914, due to an increase in the village's population, the church was reconstructed and expanded.
In 1930, the church was closed and used as a grain storage facility.
In 1991, the building was returned to the diocese, and restoration work began, which was completed in the early 2000s. In 2001, the church was consecrated again.
According to the decree of the administration of the Voronezh region No. 850 dated August 14, 1995, the church in the village of Otradnoye is an object of historical and cultural heritage of regional significance.
In 2015, the current President of Russia, V. V. Putin, visited the church to celebrate Christmas.
