Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin in Kozlovskaya

Фото 1
The brick Intercession church with a bell tower, built in 1849, was erected next to the old wooden church. It has two altars: the main one dedicated to the Intercession of the Holy Virgin and the second in honor of St. Athanasius of Alexandria. This was the main church of the Rakulo-Koksheny parish.

This church was associated with the wooden Resurrection church, built in 1791, with altars dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ, the prophet Elijah, and the great martyr Theodore Tyron. The second subsidiary church, the Vlasievskaya Rusilovskaya, built in 1765, was wooden on a stone foundation and clad in planks. The altars in it were consecrated in honor of St. Blaise of Sebaste and St. Nicholas of Myra.

The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was closed in the 1930s, partially dismantled, and for a long time used for economic needs. In the 2000s, the surviving part of the building was renovated, and services resumed in the church.
