The brick church in eclectic style, having a cross-shaped plan and likely topped with a dome, was built in the second half of the 19th century.

A map of the Kursk province, compiled by A. Wilbrecht in 1792, indicates that there was already a church in Pushkarnoye, likely wooden. The stone church was constructed in 1869. In 1909, the Intercession Church owned 13 desyatinas of arable land. The priest Ioann Andreyevich Rodionov served there since 1888, deacon Alexander Vasilyevich Stolyarevsky since 1901, and psalmist Mephodiy Timofeyevich Diakonov since 1902. In the early 20th century, considering the Pushkarnaya sloboda, the parish had 875 members.

The church was closed no later than the 1930s, and the domes were destroyed. In the post-war years, the church building housed a base of the district consumer union.

Currently, the church is located on the territory of an industrial enterprise.
