In 1798, with funds from landowner M. N. Potemkina, a wooden Intercession church was built in the village of Katolino, which stood until the early 20th century. During the period of persecution against religion, the church was destroyed.

The construction of a new church in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin began in 2010 with the blessing of Bishop Theophilakt of Bryansk and Sevsk.
