The village belonged to Field Marshal Prince Baryatinsky. Before the revolution, there was a church located in the center of the village. However, in the 1930s, by the order of M. I. Kalinin, who was resting in Ivanovsk at the time, the church was partially destroyed, and a school was opened in its place. Since then, there has been no functioning church in the village.
In early 1995, a building that had previously been used as a veterinary clinic was chosen to be handed over to the parish. That same year, at the request of the parishioners and the administration of the Rylsk district, the building was transferred for worship services. Under the guidance of the dean of the Rylsk church district, Archpriest Vladimir Efremov, work began to convert the building into a church. Floors were laid, interior partitions were removed, a dome appeared on the roof, and a small iconostasis was installed.
From that moment on, worship services began to be held in the building. In 2007, construction of a new church began near the cemetery.
