Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin in Khokhlovka

Фото 1
The wooden church was built between 1878 and 1886 in the "Russian" style by a local carpenter. The main building of the church, which has a cross-shaped and asymmetrical form, is clad in wooden planks and topped with a massive light dome octagon with a gable cornice and a small onion-shaped cupola on a drum. It is adjoined by an apse, side extensions of varying sizes, and a refectory with a three-tiered tent bell tower.

The church was not in operation from 1937 to 1941 and in the early 1960s.

After a protective plaque was installed, the church was released by local authorities. Since 1963-1964, services have not ceased. Saved icons were transferred to the Intercession Church from neighboring villages of Lakomaya Buda and Syta Buda, where the churches were closed.

Currently, the church has been restored, and services have resumed.
