The State Archive of the Stavropol Territory holds case No. 2742, dated December 30, 1861, which contains materials on the construction of a church in the village of Divnoe, Petrovskaya volost. In the resolution of the village meeting on November 12, 1861, the residents of Divnoe appealed to the Stavropol Chamber of State Property for permission to build a church in the name of Archangel Michael, similar to the church in the village of Blagodatnoye. They committed to finance the construction, allocate land, and build houses for the priest and deacon, as the prayer house had become dilapidated. The document lists the initiators of the construction: Pavel Bobrov, Ivan Bobyshev, Denis Reus, and others. In total, there are 30 people on the list, most of whom are illiterate peasants, so the document was signed by the village scribe Pesotsky. The village elder Timofey Kharin was present during the drafting of the resolution, and the document was certified with the seal of the volost head.

On March 19, 1862, at a repeated village meeting, it was reported that 3,500 rubles in silver had been collected for the construction of the church, and the remaining funds would be raised during the construction process. The construction supervisor Savva Krutoyarov and his assistant Pimon Shekhovtsov appealed to the Chamber of State Property in February 1863, requesting to expedite the construction of a wooden church on a stone foundation. An architect was needed to approve the plan. Due to Krutoyarov's illiteracy, the document was signed by the nobleman Zakrezhevsky. By that time, construction materials had already been delivered.

On November 25, 1863, the church plan project was approved by Bishop Theophilact. The archpriest Yakov Voskresensky reported on July 10, 1865, that the construction was completed. An inspection act dated August 4, 1866, confirmed that the building was constructed well and was ready for consecration. The signatures under the act were placed by the district chief Inozemtsev, civil engineer Gedrinin, and others. Due to the illiteracy of the elder Nikifor Andryushenko, he affixed the seal, and the scribe Dmitry Porokhnin signed for Savva Krutoyarov. The act was approved on April 28, 1867. The construction of the church cost 23 thousand rubles, and 6 thousand rubles were spent on the iconostasis.

The church was served by a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. The rector lived in a good building, the deacon near the church school, and the psalmist received 30 rubles for housing. The church lodge housed a women's school, while the men's school was in a separate building. The church owned 99 desyatins of land. By the early 20th century, the church had deteriorated, and in 1901 a competition was announced for repairs. During the repairs, the roof, walls, and iconostasis were updated. The church functioned until 1918 when it burned down due to careless handling of fire.

In 1904, a new stone church was built in Divnoe, with an investment of 80 thousand rubles, and 30 thousand were spent on the iconostasis. The Trinity Church became one of the largest in the region. In 1905, at a village meeting, the cost of rituals was determined: a wedding cost 5 rubles, and funerals and baptisms cost 50 kopecks. The rectors were respected.

In 1931-1932, a campaign against the church began, the cemetery was demolished, and the Trinity Church was closed and destroyed. In 1942, the Germans allowed services in the lodge of the former church. In 1964, the authorities closed the church, offering believers to move to the outskirts. In 1999, the building of the Intercession Church was transferred to the social service center, and the construction of a new church has been ongoing for over 10 years. In October 2010, the new church was consecrated.
