The church, built in 1830, was considered the richest in the area before the revolution. From 1931 to 1936, an elementary school was located within its walls. During the German occupation, the church building was dismantled to make way for a road. In 2000, at the request of local residents, the parish was reestablished in the building of a former household services plant.
