The Church of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia is located outside the city of Tambov at Polyankovsky Cemetery and belongs to the Tambov and Rasskazovo Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, Moscow Patriarchate.

The modern stone building of the church was constructed on an elevation according to the design of architects A.S. Lunkin and G.M. Lunkina from 1996 to 2002. The funds for the construction were provided by the residents of the city, industrial enterprises, and various state structures of Tambov and the region. The church is designed in a cross shape and includes a square base with a metal gable roof, above which rises a massive onion dome on a low neck. To the east, a long semicircular altar apse adjoins the square, and to the west, a small narthex with a bell tower and an onion-shaped completion. The church is adorned with mosaics, and the surrounding area is landscaped and enclosed by a metal fence with Holy gates. The first service in the church took place in 2000, and in 2002 it was consecrated by Patriarch Alexy II of All Russia.
