The Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Belgorod in the city of Stroitiel is one of the largest in the Belgorod region and can accommodate 1300 people.

In 2003, in Stroitiel, with the blessing of Archbishop Ioann, the construction of a new church dedicated to the New Martyrs and Confessors of Belgorod began.

On May 24, 2010, Archbishop Ioann of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, along with the clergy of the Yakovlevsky district, conducted the consecration of the domes and bells for the church being built.

On October 14, 2011, the lower church in honor of the holy and righteous Prince Alexander Nevsky was consecrated.

On December 31, 2011, the upper church, dedicated to the New Martyrs and Confessors of Belgorod, was consecrated.

The complex includes two churches: the lower one, designed for 400 people, and the upper one, accommodating 900 people, where services can take place simultaneously. It is the tallest building in the city, with a bell tower height of 47 meters and bells weighing a total of 1.5 tons.

The Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Belgorod has become a monument to those who sacrificed their lives for their beliefs, a symbol of repentance and unity. The history of Belgorod in the 20th century has tragic pages associated with the persecution of the Orthodox faith, the destruction of shrines, and brutal reprisals against clergy. The memory of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Belgorod is commemorated on June 1, as most of them were executed in Blagoveshchensk prison on June 1, 1938.
