The Nikolskaya Church is a typical example of a rural two-light (two-story) church from the second half of the 18th century. Its construction lasted from 1767 to 1779, after which it underwent numerous reconstructions and repairs. Due to the marshy ground, the bell tower developed cracks and leaned. After many alterations, the construction of the bell tower and spire was completed in 1817. At the same time, the church was surrounded by a stone fence with ornate iron grilles, and in 1819, gates were installed.

The layout of the church follows the traditions of Orthodox churches: a five-sided lowered apse, the church part and narthex on one axis, a two-light cube with an octagonal dome. The walls are topped with a profiled cornice, the corners are decorated with pilasters, and the semicircular windows are framed with handmade architraves.

The church in the village of Kylasovo is known for its miraculous icon of St. Nicholas. The history of the church and its relic, the miraculous icon, is full of drama, reflecting the fate of the Russian Orthodox Church over the last three centuries. During the Soviet period, the church was looted and devastated, the bell tower and fence with gates were destroyed, and the church itself was used for a long time as a club, closed to worship.
