Фото 1
The Archangel Michael Church in the village of Zhuravlyovka was founded in the 2010s on the site of a church from the second half of the 19th century, which was destroyed during the Soviet period.

The history of Zhuravlyovka spans over 350 years, beginning in the mid-17th century when several families moved here from the Tula region. They settled on Kustarinskaya Hill, near which cranes lived, giving the village its name.

In 1869, a large stone church was built in Zhuravlyovka in honor of Archangel Michael. More than one and a half thousand local residents attended services here. The parish also had two schools: a zemstvo school and a parish school.

However, the church did not survive to this day. According to some sources, it was destroyed during the war, while others claim it was during the active struggle against religion.

In the 2010s, the parish in Zhuravlyovka was revived. Services are held in a new small building.
