In 2002, with the funds of parishioners and support from sponsors, the Kazan Mother of God parish was established. In 2007, a bell tower was erected.

The church in the village of Syrtsevo is located in a converted kindergarten building; the first service took place on August 10, 2002.

This church is affiliated with the Assumption Church in the village of Verkhopenye.
