The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God Church in the village of Alexeyevsk was founded in 1840 by Cossack settlers in the Volga region, possibly in the Alexandrovskaya stanitsa. It is a completely wooden, portable Cossack church that can be transported. In November 2010, it marked 170 years since its founding. In 1905, the church was moved to the newly established village of Alexeyevsk and set up in its center. Thus, 2010 also became the 105th anniversary of the church's presence in the village of Alexeyevsk. Currently, there are three such wooden, portable Cossack churches in the Stavropol Krai, but the oldest among them is located in the village of Alexeyevsk.

The interior decoration of the church has preserved the features of the time of its founding. Its Cossack affiliation is evidenced by ancient icons, patrons of the Cossacks. In this church, many generations of Cossacks took an oath of loyalty to Russia. The fact that the church is still not fixed to a foundation confirms its belonging to the small number of portable and movable churches. During the revolution and the Great Patriotic War, it served as a bastion of faith for the people. For a short time, the church was turned into a grain warehouse by the communist authorities, which, thanks to the protection of local residents, saved it from destruction and helped preserve particularly revered relics. The church and its ancient relics hold immense spiritual value and deserve deep respect.

In 1995, the Ministry of Culture of the Stavropol Krai included the church in the list of architectural and spiritual heritage monuments of the region. Unfortunately, old photographs of the original location of the village where the church stood have not survived, but according to the memories of the locals, it stood on the shore of a picturesque lake that has since disappeared. The church is now located on the outskirts of the village, as a flood in 1988 destroyed several streets, and residents had to relocate to safer areas.
