At the beginning of the last century, the residents of the young settlement built a church, which was soon destroyed in the early twenties by order of the new authorities. The church was dismantled brick by brick.

Parish priest Mikhail Shchegolev did not accept this loss and, despite the risk, obtained permission for new construction. He raised funds, and soon a small wooden church in honor of the miraculous Kursk icon of the Holy Mother of God appeared next to the cemetery. However, this building did not survive either: it was soon converted into a hospital. Archpriest M. Shchegolev and his family shared the fate of many Russian clergymen. In 1943, the church was destroyed as a result of bombings.

At the turn of the 21st century, lamps and candles were lit again in the settlement before holy images. The Znamensky parish temporarily settled in a small building of a former shop.

Today, the residents of the settlement and the district are amazed at how quickly a new white-blue Znamensky church has risen next to the park. The first stone was consecrated on May 7, 2006, and the entire church on December 7, 2007. This became possible thanks to the head of the district, Vladimir Tynnikov, who chaired the board of trustees, and Mikhail Lytkin, the general director of LLC 'Zodchie' from Moscow, who made a significant contribution to the construction.

The residents of the settlement also actively participated in the construction and improvement of the area. They raised 1 million 120 thousand rubles.

Modern durable materials were used in the construction of the bell tower and the main dome. Ten bells were installed in the bell tower. The external crosses and chandeliers were made in Volgodonsk, Rostov region, and the domes in Arkhangelsk. The magnificent iconostasis was created by Kursk carvers Nikolai Velichkin and Viktor Krivchikov. The painting of the iconostasis and the church was done by icon painters from the Kursk icon painting workshop, spouses Roman and Elena Degtyarev.
