Фото 1
The church in the village of Igritskoye was originally built and consecrated in 1725. It was rebuilt in 1841. In 1875, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners and priest Grigory Turbin, an iconostasis was added to the church, and in 1884, a stone fence was erected. In 1898, the church was renovated, and the area in front of the entrance was paved with stone. Since 1924, after the closure of the Ploshchanskaya Mother of God Monastery, the abbot of the monastery, Hieromonk Nikodim (Spiridonov), served in the church. In 1930, he was arrested and sentenced to ten years in prison. The church was closed and later destroyed. In 1992, an Orthodox parish reopened in the village. Services are held in a prayer house set up in the building of the former church school.
