The residence of the diocese, previously located in the Pokrovsky Cathedral, was moved to the Akatov Monastery due to the construction of the building of the A. V. Koltsov Academic Drama Theater. This building, designed by Stanislav Gilev, is made of red brick and is located on Liberation of Labor Street. The residence is home to Metropolitan Sergey (Fomin) of Voronezh and Borisoglebsk. There is also a chapel at the residence, consecrated in honor of the Icon of the Sign of the Mother of God.
