The Church of the Icon of the Mother of God 'The Seeking of the Lost' is located at the Naugorsky Cemetery in Oryol. This active necropolis is situated near the village of Nekrasovka, not far from Naugorsky Highway. The cemetery was established in the 1970s and has been expanded several times in 1999 and 2003, resulting in an area exceeding 36 hectares. In 2009, a new section of the cemetery covering 17 hectares was opened.

The church was built on the grounds of the memorial complex in 2005 and serves as a place for conducting memorial services for the deceased. It is a small brick building with one dome and a tent-shaped bell tower. The church is part of the Iver Church of Oryol.
