The residents of the village were parishioners of the Belo-Berezhskaya Monastery. In 1900, a church school opened in Malo Polpino at the monastery. In 1924, the monastery was closed, and the Bryansk regional executive committee allowed the community of believers from Malo Polpino to transfer a wooden church from the Skete to the village. In the "Historical and Contemporary Review of the Communal Male Bryansk Belo-Berezhskaya Monastery of the Oryol Province 1909," the Skete church is described as a two-story building with two churches: the upper one, wooden and cold, in honor of All Saints, and the lower one, stone and warm, in honor of the Pechersk Icon of the Mother of God. Noteworthy is the forest from which the church was built; it was previously a village church that stood for over two hundred years and was erected from timber aged one and a half centuries, preserving its strength and beauty. By 1926, the work on transferring the church was nearly completed, and it was installed on the outskirts of the village on a stone foundation. Drawings and descriptions of the church have been preserved. According to the memories of the old-timers, a few years later, the church was officially closed, but services continued until 1943. In 1943, the church was burned down by the occupying forces.

The church community was reestablished in 2001. Services are held in a small church built next to the preserved foundation of the burned church.
