The parish in the village of Dubovo was founded in the autumn of 1999 at the initiative of local believers. The church, designed by architects A.V. Bersenev and L.I. Kolesnikova, was consecrated on November 1, 2003. The name of the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God 'Bread Giver' was suggested by the residents themselves.

The construction of the church lasted four years, built by the Belgorod plant ZhBK-1 with funds from regional enterprises and donations from local residents. During the construction period, the village administration provided a space in an old kindergarten for conducting services.

The consecration ceremony and Divine Liturgy in the new church were conducted by Archbishop Ioann of Belgorod and Stary Oskol. The church icon was consecrated at the Holy Vvedensky Optina Monastery on the relics of St. Ambrose of Optina. The first rector was Father Nikolai Belikov.
