The Theodorovskaya Icon of the Holy Mother of God held special significance for the royal family. In the village of Kuloy, a church was built in its honor, located at the crossroads and visible from almost any point in the village. This is the first church in this settlement, founded in the 1960s when houses were built here by political prisoners.

At the end of the last century, an Orthodox community emerged in this area, which initiated the creation of the parish of the Theodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God. The decision to build the church was made in 2002. Funds were collected slowly and gradually, and it is unknown how long this would have continued if, in 2005, entrepreneurs from Plesetsk had not gifted the village a log cabin for the new church. All collected funds were spent on the installation of the log cabin and the decoration of the church inside and out.

Currently, a children's Sunday school operates at the church.
