The parish was established at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.

In the village of Lobanovo, now located in the territory of the settlement of Komarichi, there once stood a church in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity, where the holy martyr priest Varlaam Popov served. In 1943, the church was destroyed, and the believers from Komarichi had to travel to the churches in the neighboring villages of Bobrik and Radogoshch. With the revival of Orthodoxy in Russia, an Orthodox community emerged in Komarichi. In 2006, the parish of the church in honor of the Mother of God 'Sovereign' was officially registered. For a long time, services were held in a prayer room.

In 2013, the construction of a new church began, and after six years, it was completed. The first service took place on the feast day on March 15, 2018.

A children's Sunday school operates at the church.
