The wooden chapel of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker in Berezniki was built between 1730 and 1735. In this region, the construction of chapels was common, but this particular chapel is associated with a legend. Previously, there were two churches here, dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and the prophet Elijah, which were considered quite wealthy for their time. They housed icons, books, worldly vessels, and candles, and the clergy occupied four courtyards. There was also a holy spring of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker in Berezniki.

According to legend, one day a local miller dreamed of an old man in long robes who pointed to the spring and asked him to build a house there. When the miller asked who he was, the old man replied: "Tomorrow." The next day, according to the church calendar, was the feast of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The miller shared his vision and the request of Saint Nicholas, and that same year the chapel was built and consecrated in his honor.

Since then, services in the village are held twice a year, on the winter and spring Nicholas days. Additionally, every May, after the feast of Nicholas, the residents organize a procession to the chapel, take water from the holy spring, and bless the fields with it.
