On July 31, 2010, a stone was laid and consecrated in the village of Mazikino at the site of the future chapel in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh. The opening of this chapel took place on October 1, 2011, built with funds donated by local residents, Army General Fyodor Ivanovich Ladygin, and his son Sergey Fyodorovich.
The consecration was performed by Archbishop (now Metropolitan) John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol. On October 6, 2012, the bells for the chapel were consecrated on the feast day of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
In the 1990s, a holy spring called "Golovnoi" was arranged near the chapel.
