On August 13, 2005, the first founding meeting of the parish took place, during which the Orthodox public organization "Epiphany Church" was registered in the village of Zalegosch. The spiritual father of the Optina Monastery, Archimandrite Iliy, arrived to bless the construction and laid the first stone of the church.

On September 25, 2005, on the feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, the first procession took place in Zalegosch. Participants, including members of the parish council of the Epiphany Church, walked from the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Kazary to the site of the new church near the central district hospital. The dean of the eighth diocesan district, Priest Peter, along with Father Alexander, the rector of the church in the village of Zmievka, conducted a water blessing service, sprinkled the construction site, and erected a Cross of Veneration. The construction of the church began on June 21, 2005, funded by patrons and donations from the laity.

At the end of October 2008, bells were delivered to the church. On December 3, 2008, a ceremony for their consecration and installation on the 32-meter bell tower took place. The bell tower is three-tiered, and the church itself has five domes, accommodating up to 500 people. Nine bells, cast from copper and tin at a factory in Donetsk by the spiritual children of Elder Iliy, include the smallest weighing 6 kilograms and the largest "blagovest" weighing 3 tons 610 kilograms. The bells were raised to the third tier of the belfry.

On May 9, 2010, the first Divine Liturgy with the minor consecration of the altar was held at the Epiphany Church in the village of Zalegosch.
