Sёlyby is located on the left bank of the Mezenskaya River in the Udor district. Above the village stands the Epiphany Church, built in the 19th century. One of the chapels was consecrated in honor of John the Baptist. In 1937, the church was closed, and its rector, the holy martyr Grigory Bronnikov, was shot. Until 2009, the church building housed a House of Culture.

The church is now gradually being restored through the efforts of the Orthodox community of the village of Sёlyby, established in 1999. A temporary iconostasis has been installed, and services are being held. The community is cared for by Archpriest Igor Svetlichny, the rector of the "Inexhaustible Cup" church in the village of Usogorsk in the Udor district. Traditionally, a procession is held in the village on the day of the Nativity of John the Forerunner to the spring consecrated in his honor.

The community of Sёlyby is small, as the village has just over a hundred residents. The church is large, and a lot of effort and resources are needed for its restoration. Currently, it is urgent to paint the church's exterior and replace the roof to prevent further deterioration.
