Since the establishment of the Gubkin Diocese in 1997, the clergy of Gubkin have been spiritually supporting the Gubkin Central District Hospital.

In January 2007, Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol consecrated the foundation stone for a new hospital church in honor of Saint Blessed Xenia of Petersburg. The construction of the church lasted 9 months.

The Gubkin administration, led by A. A. Kretov, oversaw the construction, while the general contractor was LLC 'GOKstroy' headed by A. T. Pytev. The church was consecrated on September 23, 2007, by Archbishop John. Currently, a sisterhood operates at the church.
