Фото 1
The report on the Annunciation Church in the village of Rozhny, Surazh district, for the year 1906 states that the church was built in 1822 by the efforts of landowner Ugryumov and was rebuilt in 1841 with funds from landowner Shklyarevich. In 1895, it was renovated by the parishioners, who collected 900 rubles. The church is wooden, unheated, with a bell tower of the same material, standing on a stone foundation and is quite sturdy. The fence around the church is new and wooden. The church has three altars: the main one in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the second to the right of the main one in honor of St. Nicholas, and the third to the left, in honor of St. Theodosius, the Miracle Worker of Chernigov, established on September 5, 1899. The church is equipped with the necessary utensils, and the staff includes a priest and a psalmist.

The church has land on which there is a wooden house for the priest, which is already dilapidated. The house for the psalmist and other public buildings are located on church land purchased in 1903 from the children of the former landowner Golovkov. These buildings were repaired with funds from the community but are unsuitable for living. The insurance for the priest's buildings amounts to 500 rubles, and for the psalmist, 200 rubles.

Since January 1, 1898, the clergy receives a salary from the treasury of 400 rubles per year. Previously, parishioners provided about 200 poods of bread per year, but now they refuse this practice. A document dated May 25, 1898, is kept in the church archive.

Besides the church watchman's lodge, there are no other buildings at the church. It is located 200 versts from the Spiritual Consistory and 25 versts from the local Dean. The nearest villages are Teremoshki, 5 versts away, and Tulukovshchina, 3 versts away. There are no house or attached churches in the parish.

An inventory of church property was compiled in 1853. The income and expenditure books for 1906-1909 are kept accurately and stored in the archive. Copies of the metric books and confession rolls since 1800 are also maintained and preserved intact. In the inquiry book, there are 46 used sheets and 54 unused ones. The church chronicle is kept, but the library is scant.

There are no church funds in banknotes. Since 1894, a literacy school has been operating at the church, for which a separate building with a hall for boys and an apartment for the teacher was built in 1903. The school has 33 boys and 10 girls enrolled. The teacher is peasant Isaac Kirillov Lepetukhin, who receives 120 rubles a year from the Council Department.
