The brick two-story church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in the classical style, was erected between 1835 and 1847. It consists of a square structure with rectangular altar and refectory. The upper floor housed the Assumption altar, while the lower floor had the Annunciation altar. The church was closed no later than the 1930s, and its domes were dismantled. Currently, the building is maintained and used as a club and library.

In the land books of 1586 by I.G. Ogareva and clerk F. Yuryev, dated February 12, 1600, two churches are mentioned: Annunciation and Assumption. The Annunciation church in the Pazhga volost of the Yaren district is also listed in the tax book of monasteries and churches of the Veliky Ustyug diocese from 1755.

A wooden two-story Annunciation church was built in 1781 and consecrated on June 19, 1783. The upper, warm part of the church had an altar in the name of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, while the lower, cold part had an altar in the name of St. Modest. The Assumption church, built in 1763 and consecrated on June 26, 1765, was wooden and single-story.

In 1835, a stone two-story church was erected. The lower floor, the warm church, was consecrated on December 15 of the same year, while the upper floor and bell tower were completed in 1840 and consecrated on June 21, 1847. The lower church had an altar in the name of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the cold church had an altar in the name of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Nyvchim Dmitrievsky church was assigned in 1869. The parish guardianship was established on November 28, 1872, with peasant Gerasim Grigorievich Nadutkin as its chairman.

In 1788, the parish had 908 members, and by 1868, it had grown to 2149 members.

In 1894, a chapel was built in honor of St. Stephen, Bishop of Velikoperm.
