The Annunciation Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kursk was built in the early 20th century. At the same time, a utility building was constructed, which was used as a dormitory for the builders. Later, it housed a church parish school. However, in the 1920s, after serving less than thirty years, the church was destroyed. The utility building survived and was initially used as a general education school, and in 1994 it was transferred to the Kursk diocese. After that, it was converted into a church, and the Annunciation Cathedral in Kursk was given new life. The restoration work was completed in 2003.

The church building is made of white brick and adorned with orange patterns on the sides. The windows have an elongated semicircular shape. A cast-iron fence surrounds the territory, inside which there is a small courtyard.
