The Annunciation Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary was founded in 1953 in the Flushing area of New York. Initially, parishioners gathered in a space on Bowne Street. In 1970, a church building was acquired from the Greek Orthodox community on 147th Street in the same area. This building was originally constructed by German Lutherans in 1895.
At one time, a parish school operated at the church. To this day, services at the church are conducted in Church Slavonic.
