The Archangel Michael Church on Studenaya Hill is one of the last pre-revolutionary churches in Vladimir. It is designed in an eclectic style with predominant Byzantine elements. The church was designed by provincial architect Andrey Afanasyev, and the construction was overseen by engineer Ivan Karabutov. The church was laid in October 1891 and consecrated on November 28, 1893. The funds for its construction were bequeathed by retired captain Fyodor Arkhangelsky, who donated 23 thousand rubles. The decoration and utensils were financed by wealthy individuals, such as entrepreneur Yuri Nechaev-Maltsov, who paid for the creation of a mirrored cross for the dome. The cross was produced at the Zaslavsky factory in Yekaterinoslav (now Dnipro). Inside, the vaulted arches housed icons of saints. Despite its external grandeur, the church was relatively small, accommodating 300-400 people.

After the revolution in 1930, the church was closed and lost its bell tower, mirrored cross, small dome, and fence. The bell tower with five bells, located on the left, was dismantled. In the following decades, the building was used for economic purposes, and from 1986 to 1996, it housed the museum exhibition "Clocks and Time." In 1996, the church was returned to the Vladimir Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. In 2002, the bell tower was restored and consecrated, and in 2010, the church regained its original appearance. Now it is topped with a crystal cross made at a factory in Gus-Khrustalny, Vladimir region.

Today, the church houses several local relics, including the miraculous icons of the Mother of God "Quick to Hear," "Theodorovskaya," and "Bogolyubskaya."
