In 1872, in the village of Lobanovo, part of the Koltsovsky parish, a wooden chapel was built with funds from the parishioners of the Koltsov church and with the permission of the archbishop. This event was timed to the miraculous double salvation of Emperor Alexander II's life. The following year, in 1873, at the request of the parishioners, the chapel in Lobanovo was transformed into a church.

On March 18 (according to the old style), the church was consecrated in honor of Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky and was attached to the Koltsov Nikolayev church. In 1877, the Lobanovo church became an independent parish. In August 1903, a stone church was laid on the site of the wooden one. It was built in 1911 with funds from parishioners and donations and was consecrated on September 15, 1913. The architecture of the church is done in the neo-Russian-Byzantine style. Around it were 15 villages, and the number of parishioners fluctuated from 800 to 2000 people in different years.

In 1905, a board of trustees was created at the church to assist the villagers. It included 19 people, including the rector of the church, the elder, and respected residents. The council allocated funds for repairs, restoration, and other household needs. Archpriest Leonid Troitsky organized the first craft schools for children in the village.

During the Soviet era, the church suffered greatly. Priest Ioann Korolev was arrested on December 5, 1937, and shot on December 26 of the same year (case No. 8842 from December 1937). The church was closed on January 24, 1940.

In the 1960s, the bell tower and domes around the central dome of the church were destroyed. Later, the fence was demolished, and the interior was ruined. The church was used as a salting workshop and warehouse.

In the late 1970s, the building was converted into a restaurant called "POSAD," which operated until the end of the 1980s. During the perestroika period in 1989, the church was returned to the Orthodox parishioners, who restored the destroyed and desecrated shrine with their own efforts.

Currently, services and rituals are held in the church, and there is a Sunday school that pays great attention to the upbringing of the younger generation.
