The building, which previously served as a guardhouse, is located in the courtyard of house 19 on Komsomolsky Prospekt. It was built in the early 19th century during the formation of the architectural ensemble of the Hamovniki Barracks. It is believed that M. Kazakov and I. Tamansky oversaw the construction.

The preserved single-story structure features a white stone cornice and clearly defined Empire-style Tuscan pilasters. The heavy columned portico with neoclassical medallions was likely added later, in the second half of the 19th century.

Narrow windows were either bricked up or expanded during the removal of the cells.

Currently, the former guardhouse building houses offices of commercial organizations.
