The building, constructed in 1904, originally belonged to the Volgushov brothers. Its architecture showcases a blend of pseudo-classical style with elements of Empire. In the early 20th century, Syzran was an important trading center, and during fairs, numerous merchants and traders would gather here. City hotels were actively developing at that time, and one of the most prestigious was the 'Batumi' hotel.
