The two-story mansion with a small decorative pediment on Kozhevnicheskaya Street was built in the "Russian style" by architect Krasnov for Yegor Stepanovich Skvortsov. The year of construction, 1853, is indicated in the ornament on a fragment of the fence to the right of the house. Yegor Skvortsov inherited the leather business from his father, Stepan Yulianovich Skvortsov, a peasant from the village of Shevlino. The family had a large leather production, their own factory, and trade in Moscow. In 1829, Mikhail Yakovlevich Ryabushinsky made a profitable marriage with the daughter of Stepan Yulianovich, Yefimiya.

The house remained in the Skvortsov family until 1917, preserving its "Russian" decor. The windows on the second floor are adorned with tall triangular pediments, and the window frames are made of stucco imitating wooden carvings. The center of the facade, consisting of five windows, is framed by pilasters, and the corners are decorated with small half-columns. Until recently, an elegant wrought-iron canopy over the main entrance to the mansion was preserved from the courtyard side.
