By 1825, the current house was rebuilt from a two-story building, which in 1822 was listed as a "burned stone structure" and belonged to Major General V.A. Urusov.

The construction featured architectural elements typical of that time: a two-story stone building with a basement, a rusticated first floor, and a main facade adorned with a four-column Tuscan portico.

In the early 20th century, the owners of the mansion frequently changed. Among them were the merchant families Smirnov and Smyslov. In the 1900s, physicist and educator A.I. Bachinsky, known for his law of viscosity of liquids, lived here for a short time.

Literary local historian N.P. Antsiferov wrote in the 1920s about house No. 9 and its neighbors: "The houses numbered from 7 to 13 create a complex that allows even today to see the appearance of the Old Konyushennaya sloboda as it was more than a hundred years ago... Rich stucco with antique motifs in the Empire style, cast-iron grilles, pediments with coats of arms..." Of all these structures, only houses No. 7 and No. 9 have survived.
