Fraternitas Arctica is a Russian student corporation founded in Riga and continuing its activities in Latvia. It was established on October 21, 1880, by students of the Baltic Polytechnic Institute in Riga, which at that time was a private higher technical educational institution. The founders of the corporation were previously part of the student organization Borysthenia, which was closed shortly before. Borysthenia united students of various nationalities, including Germans from the southern provinces and Russians.

After the Soviet occupation, on May 19, 1990, at a meeting in the historic building of the corporation located at 8 Maza Smilshu Street, Riga, a group of old members decided to resume the activities of the corporation in Latvia. This was done based on the existing statutes, and the organization was officially registered.
