In their youth, before the war, the Tsvetaeva sisters often spent time in Crimea, enjoying the warm summer sun of the peninsula. Over a hundred years have passed since then, but the two-story house where Marina Tsvetaeva lived for about nine months miraculously survived amidst turbulent historical events. In the autumn of 1913, the famous poetess arrived in Feodosia with her husband, young daughter, and sister Anastasia. This was their last vacation before the onset of World War I, revolutionary upheavals, and long exile. They were drawn to Feodosia by the loss of their father and the desire to distract themselves from sad thoughts. They decided to temporarily move from Moscow to warm Crimea, choosing Feodosia due to a friend, Voloshin.

Marina and Anastasia made the rented house the center of their creative life, where it was always lively and cheerful. The sisters would stroll for hours through the ancient city, befriending the relatives of Aivazovsky and becoming familiar to everyone. In such an atmosphere, they quickly forgot their grief, and years later, Anastasia fondly remembered those days. It was in Feodosia that Marina wrote her famous poem, reflecting her impressions of the ancient city visited by Theophanes the Greek.

In June 1914, the Tsvetaeva family left Crimea forever, and soon the war began. Decades later, it was decided to open a museum in this house in memory of the Tsvetaeva sisters. The realization of the plans took a long time and was successfully completed. In 1999, a memorial plaque appeared on the house, and in 2001, the museum was officially opened. Today, the collection of the Museum of Marina and Anastasia Tsvetaeva includes about two thousand exhibits, and the museum continues to develop, planning to expand its exhibition space.
