In 1998, to mark the centenary of the settlement of Falenki, an important event took place in the cultural life of the Falenki district: the opening of the exhibition hall of the local history museum. The district administration, together with the Department of Culture, decided to revive the museum, and F.N. Sokolova led this project. The head of the district, V.G. Nikiforov, provided the museum with two rooms in the foyer of the cinema "Mayak" on Svobody Street, 87. Artists V.N. Timonin and S.A. Merinov, as well as cultural workers, including R.A. Pashkina, T.V. Kodochigova, and T.A. Vagina, participated in the museum's design. Significant assistance was provided by Yu.M. Murzin, A.I. Ryakina, A.P. Krinitsyna, V.A. Sitnikov, N.Yu. Novikova, N.A. Kononova, N.P. Sapozhnikova, and others. In December 2000, the museum received official status. By early 2008, its collections numbered over three thousand exhibits, displayed in two halls. The exhibitions tell about the history of the settlement and the district, as well as the lives of peasants in the 19th and 20th centuries. Special attention is given to Vyatka folk crafts, weaving, and embroidery. The Hall of Military Glory features materials about the residents of Falenki, Heroes of the Soviet Union, and participants in the Great Patriotic War, as well as about Yevgeny Bulov, who was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. Here, one can see finds transferred to the museum by the search team "Height." In a separate hall, paintings by local artists such as V.N. Timonin, I.P. Kuznetsova, V.V. Ivanov, G.K. Koshcheev, and L.P. Malshakov are exhibited. The museum's collections include works by Elena Maslennikova, the granddaughter of the famous photographer S.A. Lobovikov. There is also a corner for hunting trophies. The museum organizes evenings and meetings for war and labor veterans, exhibitions and displays dedicated to important dates in the life of the settlement and district. Collections are gathered to introduce visitors to the works of local craftsmen, wickerwork, Dymkovo toys, and handicrafts. The museum conducts over 350 excursions and 20 exhibitions annually. Together with the local history museum, "Days of Forgotten Villages" are held in the district, culminating in the installation of a memorial sign in honor of a former settlement. For many, this place holds special significance, for example, for V.N. Fukalov, director of ZAO "Stupen-1," who participated in the creation of the memorial sign for the Upper Chepetsky Cross Exaltation Monastery. A.A. Poroshin, technical director of the company "Energis, Service," supported the installation of the memorial sign, the reconstruction of the Falen Church, and the publication of the local history collection, and also heads the Falenki community in Kirov. On June 5, 2004, with the blessing of Archbishop of Vyatka and Slobodsky Hrisanph, the memorial sign was unveiled at the site of the former Upper Chepetsky Cross Exaltation Monastery, the first Russian settlement in the district. On June 19, 2004, a religious procession took place to this sign. Among the sponsors of the local history collection "Where We Come From" are G.A. Mamaev, general director of the Lepse plant, and S.Yu. Ushakov, head of LLC APK "Golden Meadows." In October 2007, this collection was published, the result of many years of work by local historians, reflecting the history of the development of villages and settlements in the Falenki district.
