The Yevpatoria Local History Museum invites visitors to explore the 25-century history of the city of Yevpatoria, the region's nature, and the material culture of the peoples who lived in Crimea and Yevpatoria. The museum features materials on military events from the Russo-Turkish, Crimean, World War I, Civil, and Great Patriotic Wars, as well as information on the development of the Yevpatoria resort. The permanent exhibition "Mosaic of Ancient Cultures" showcases decorative and applied arts from antiquity, the Middle Ages, and modern times.

The museum was opened in 1921 as the "Museum of Antiquities" in a mansion built in 1912 in pseudo-Moorish style, and since 1933 it has been a local history museum. The museum's collection began to form in 1916 and now includes about 100,000 items, covering periods from antiquity to the present day. Among them are archaeological, ethnographic, and numismatic exhibits, materials on the history of the Great Patriotic War, and the development of the resort. The documentary fund includes over 45,000 items from the 18th and 21st centuries, reflecting the life of the city, its health resorts, and residents. The archaeological collection contains 36,000 items from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages, collected in Northwestern Crimea and from excavations of the ancient city of Kerkinitida. The museum also houses Scythian stone sculptures, reliefs depicting Hercules, and painted terracottas. More than 5,000 household items and decorative arts testify to life in the 18th and 20th centuries, including furniture, porcelain, and gold embroidery. The numismatic collection of over 4,000 items includes coins from ancient cities, the Crimean Khanate, Russia, and other countries, as well as orders and medals. The museum takes pride in the watercolors of N. S. Samokish and the works of Y. V. Volkov.

The museum is visited by more than 60,000 people annually, hosting over two thousand excursions, 14 new exhibitions, and more than 60 cultural events. In 1988, the diorama "Landing of the Yevpatoria Assault Force on January 5, 1942," created by B. Tautiev, was opened. In 2012, the Museum of the History of the Crimean War opened on Revolution Street, and in 2000, the archaeological complex "Northwestern Suburb of the Ancient City of Kerkinitida" was established on Duvanovskaya Street.

The diorama "Landing of the Yevpatoria Assault Force" is located in the museum building at Duvanovskaya Street, 11, and is dedicated to the heroism of Black Sea sailors. The exhibition includes photos, documents, and personal belongings of the assault participants, as well as materials about the occupation period of Yevpatoria. The Museum of the History of the Crimean War on Revolution Street, 61, tells about the events of the Eastern and Crimean Wars, presenting a collection of weapons, awards, and paintings. The archaeological complex opposite the museum allows visitors to see the remains of the defensive structures of Kerkinitida. The outdoor lapidary exhibition showcases fragments of a tower and anthropomorphic steles found in western Crimea.
