The history of Russia is rich with examples of outstanding individuals, among whom the Seredbrinnikov couple holds a special place. Evgenia Pavlovna Seredbrinnikova (née Solonina) and Pavel Nikolayevich Seredbrinnikov were renowned doctors. Evgenia Pavlovna became one of the first female doctors in Russia.

They were born in the Urals, but fate brought them to St. Petersburg, where they received their medical education. Pavel Nikolayevich studied at the Medical-Surgical Academy, while Evgenia Pavlovna completed courses at this academy. In 1876, they met and got married. The following year, Evgenia Pavlovna went to the Russo-Turkish War, where she assisted the wounded. For her work, she was awarded the Red Cross badge and a medal. Upon returning to St. Petersburg, she successfully passed her exams and became one of the first female doctors.

In 1879, the couple moved to Perm, where they began their medical practice. Evgenia Pavlovna later underwent additional training in the capital in ophthalmology. In 1885, she returned to Perm and helped establish the first eye department in Russia. Over the years, she treated more than 30,000 patients and left behind scientific works that are still important educational resources. She was also actively involved in charity and assisted resettled peasants.

Pavel Nikolayevich also achieved significant success, earning a doctorate and becoming one of the well-known doctors. He founded several public, charitable, and educational projects, engaged in scientific and teaching activities. He also created the Perm Scientific and Industrial Museum, which still exists today, and was involved in local history.

Unfortunately, their life together lasted only 21 years. Evgenia Pavlovna passed away on May 1, 1897, from a brain tumor, while Pavel Nikolayevich lived for another 20 years and died on April 2, 1917. Both outstanding doctors were buried in the ancient Yegoshikha cemetery. Their contributions to medicine and public life are commemorated in a book and a memorial plaque dedicated to Evgenia Pavlovna.
