The Mariinsky Church, located at the Mariinsky Women's Gymnasium, was founded in 1873 by actual state councilor Mikhail Avksentyevich Isakov and merchant Nikolai Vasilyevich Sapozhnikov. The altar in the church is consecrated in honor of Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Mary Magdalene.
