House Church of Cyril and Methodius at Kazan Male Monastery

Фото 1
The Church of Cyril and Methodius is located on the grounds of the Kazan Mother of God Male Monastery and is part of the monastery's jurisdiction under the Tambov and Rasskazov Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The history of the Kazan Mother of God Male Monastery dates back to 1677, when Elder Joseph secluded himself in a dense forest on a high bank of the Tsna River valley for fervent prayer. Over time, monks from various places began to join him, and the Kazan Monastery became the first monastic community in the Tambov region. Thanks to their prayers and labor, the monastery was restored.

The seminary's house church in honor of the equal-to-the-apostles Cyril and Methodius is located in the building of the seminary dormitory, constructed in 2005. On the eastern side of the two-story L-shaped stone building with a gabled metal roof, there is a small octagonal lantern topped with a helmet-shaped dome and an onion-shaped cupola on a faceted neck.
