The Alexander Nevsky house church, built of stone in 1889 at the Nikolsk Spiritual School, witnessed a significant event on September 24, 1915. On this day, the new church, dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Martyr Empress Alexandra, was fully consecrated. The church was erected in honor of the coronation of the imperial couple and was located at the Nikolsk Higher Primary School. The night before the consecration, an all-night vigil took place, attended by all the clergy of Nikolsk, including one archpriest, seven priests, two deacons, and three psalmists. The consecration ceremony, which began at 8 a.m., was attended by the school’s law teacher and priest M. Krassov, as well as priests of the cathedral N. Vokhomskiy and V. Yakhlakov, and the observer for church schools V. Shipulin. Two choirs of students from the school and the women's gymnasium performed hymns, and among those present were the heads and teachers of the city's educational institutions, as well as representatives of the district administration. According to the decree of the Holy Synod dated November 12, 1915, a permanent deacon position was opened, funded by local resources.
