Peter's House, also known as Chatygin's House, is a historical landmark in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. It is located at 27 Pochaevskaya Street. The building was constructed in the late 17th century and, according to local legend, Emperor Peter I stayed here twice: first in 1695 before the Azov campaign, and second in 1722 when he visited the city to pay respects at Kuzma Minin's grave.

Originally, the chambers belonged to merchant Chatygin, then in the early 18th century they passed to the Dokukin merchants, and in 1765 to the widow of Mikhail Dokukin, Irina Petrovna. The ownership changed multiple times thereafter. By the 19th century, the building had deteriorated significantly and was used as a lodging house. In 1888, when the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Scientific Archive Commission was established, the house was acquired for the storage of historical materials as an important city relic.

On March 6, 2008, the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region approved the boundaries of the territory of Chatygin's House, also known as Peter the First's House, as a cultural heritage site.
