Vakhrameev House in Yaroslavl

Фото 1
The Vakhrameev House is a unique mansion in Yaroslavl, designed in the late baroque style and resembling a palace. Ivan Alexandrovich Vakhrameev, a well-known Yaroslavl philanthropist, owned several milling and trading enterprises and was elected mayor five times. He made significant contributions to the preservation of the city's historical monuments and the study of its history. Vakhrameev acquired this estate in the early 1870s and commissioned architect Nikiforov to renovate the building. The facades were restored according to old 18th-century drawings, except for the balustrade with statues and vases. By the early 20th century, the Vakhrameev estate included a stone mansion with annexes, stone courtyard services, and a greenhouse in a small garden. According to descriptions from that time, the house had 34 rooms, of which the owners occupied 29. 23 rooms featured luxurious finishes and parquet flooring. During the Soviet period, the estate housed a children's hospital.
