From June 24 to August 24, 1831, Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna, the emperor's daughter-in-law, rented house No. 8 for herself and house No. 7 for her entourage. On the central pediment of the building, a double-headed eagle is installed, symbolizing Imperial Russia, in memory of her visit.
Today, with persistence and generosity, one can rent apartments with a magnificent sea view. Landlords note that the apartment combines historical atmosphere and elegance, making it an ideal place to get acquainted with the history and attractions of Sidmouth.
