Behind the new school building lies a small house, built in 1893 according to the design of the famous Moscow architect Alexander Kaminsky, who was a teacher of Fyodor Shekhtel. The house was originally intended for a marble workshop.

From 1900 to 1932, the outstanding artist and sculptor Nikolai Andreevich Andreev lived and worked here. In this workshop, in the early 1900s, he created the images of monuments to the writer Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol, which is located in the courtyard of the writer's museum on Nikitsky Boulevard, and to the 'holy doctor' Fyodor Petrovich Gaaz, installed in the courtyard of house No. 5 on Malyy Kazenny Lane. After the revolution, Andreev actively participated in the implementation of the monumental propaganda plan and from 1918 to 1922 created monuments to A.I. Herzen, A.N. Ostrovsky, and N.P. Ogarev. In the early 1920s, many portraits of Lenin were created in this workshop, which became part of Andreev's famous 'Leniniana,' including about 100 sculptural and 200 graphic portraits. One of the portraits from this series was used in the design of the VKP(b) party card.

During the Soviet era, the house was transformed into an ordinary residential building with communal apartments.
