In 1909, Rachmaninoff visited the USA, where he performed his Third Piano Concerto with the New York Symphony and Boston Orchestras, as well as appeared with the New York Philharmonic. After this, he was offered to lead the Boston Orchestra, but he declined. After the revolutions of 1917 and the loss of all his property, Rachmaninoff was forced to emigrate to the USA.
In 1943, Sergei Rachmaninoff, the outstanding Russian composer and one of the key figures of Russian musical culture, passed away at his home located at 610 Hazeltine Street, Beverly Hills, California.
